COLOMBIA - FEBRUARY 2026

You may not have thought about a golf trip to Colombia before but this is a fantastic opportunity for some winter sun in early 2026! Colombia has undergone a transformation in recent years as it has become a great destination for the international visitor with a wonderful climate, fascinating history along with high levels of hospitality. Throw in some fun golf and it has all the makings of a lovely trip!

We will start in the capital Bogota, staying in the exclusive north district in a 5 star hotel. The weather in February is perfect for golf. It's the second driest month of the year and you can expect temperatures around 20 degrees centigrade.

We will ensure we have time to explore the city as well as playing the best (and most exclusive) courses in the country - all within an hour's drive of the hotel.

From there we will fly up to the Caribbean and Cartagena. The temperature will rise quite signficantly - expect the high 20s - and there is rarely any rain at all at this time of year.

Cartagena is a fascinating city, steeped in history, with colonial architecture, cobbled streets, and colourful buildings. Its walled Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll have time to explore the city as a group and enjoy two rounds of golf at the renowned Karibana golf course.

We will head back to Bogota for the last night before transferring to the airport for flights home.

We will have a local guide with us at all times and the company I am working with locally did a wonderful job for us on the UK Golf Guy trip to Argentina earlier this year.

For those of you who haven't been on a trip with me before it is a great way to meet up with other like-minded fans of travel and golf in a relaxed environment. This is the first trip we are doing to a location which doesn't have a rich golf heritage but the courses look interesting and I am assured the condition of them is always wonderful. And imagine telling your friends you are going on a golf trip to Colombia!

Please email me at david@ukgolfguy.com if you would like to book a place. We will need a minimum of 8 people to ensure the trip goes ahead and we will only take deposit payments when we reach that number. The maximum number will be 16 people.

I hope you can join me for a special start to 2026!

You can see the full itinerary HERE but the highlights are below -

SUNDAY 2ND FEBRUARY 2026

Fly into Bogota and transfer to the 5 star EK hotel - This boutique hotel is set in the exclusive north district of Bogota, within walking distance to the best bars and restaurants around.

MONDAY 3RD FEBRUARY

Today we will play Los Lagartos Golf Club. It’s one of the most prestigious courses in the country - host to the Colombian Open. Expect fantastic conditioning, some water in play and a great venue for our first round!

We’ll go back to Bogota after the round for a city tour so we can get our bearings and learn about the history of Colombia’s capital.

This evening we will have a welcome group meal together in one of the city’s most famed restaurants - Andres Carne de Res.

TUESDAY 4TH FEBRUARY

We will play today at El Rincon de Cajica. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., this course has hosted a World Cup and is a current venue for the PGA Tour of Americas. The course is one of the most challenging in the country due to its spectacular layout.

We will eat again today as a group in one of Bogota’s great restaurants.

WEDNESDAY 5TH FEBRUARY

It’s another top Bogota course today, La Pradera de Potosí - renowned for its picturesque surroundings set against the backdrop of the Andes Mountains. It’s a very exclusive course and expect a real five star experience framed by rugged mountain peaks.

THURSDAY 6TH FEBRUARY

We will check out of the hotel this morning and head to San Andres Golf Club - St Andrews! Regarded as one of Colombia’s golfing temples, this course, with over 70 years of history, is one of the country's most traditional. Its British-style layout is very different from the other courses on the trip and will be a great last course to play in Bogota.

This afternoon we will take an internal flight to Cartagena de Indias, often referred to simply as Cartagena, a city on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. This historic city was founded in 1533 and is known for its rich cultural heritage and well-preserved colonial architecture.

Is a popular tourist destination, blending colonial charm with vibrant nightlife, cultural festivals, and beautiful beaches.

The city’s historical significance is reflected in its inclusion as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its well-preserved fortresses and monuments attracting visitors worldwide.

We will check in at the premium boutique Nacar hotel and enjoy a group meal together in this wonderful city.

FRIDAY 7TH FEBRUARY

Designed and built by Nicklaus Design, Karibana Golf Club is the only seaside golf course in Colombia.

On the first nine holes you will play through half a dozen artificial lakes surrounded by mangrove vegetation, while the final nine holes are located by the sea demand precision to score well. It’s a great setting with some fantastic views of the Caribbean Sea.

WHO IS A UKGOLFGUY TRIP AIMED AT?

It's a very broad church!! Basically if you love playing great golf courses and exploring new places I’m pretty sure you will have a great time.

Often singles come along - you may find your friends aren't quite as passionate as you to discover new courses and this is a great way to meet like-minded souls.

Groups of friends do come too and that's great - the only thing I ask is that you are prepared to break your group up sometimes to play with others on the trip so we can mix things up a bit. But don't worry, I'll make sure you get to play with your travelling companions plenty too.

I run a few little competitions over the course of the trip but they are just for fun really - the focus here is on the courses and camaraderie rather than winning a trophy. If you'd rather not take part in that element, that's absolutely fine too.

So wherever you come from, whatever your golf is like - the most important thing is that you play at a good pace with a smile on your face wherever possible!

FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS TRIPS

Really enjoyed the trip David put together to Melbourne and the surrounding areas. He put together a great itinerary, had great supporting apps to follow along and was on top of every detail. Would definitely love to travel with David in the future!
CP - UK

It was a group of golfers who didn’t know one another. We had an absolute blast. David’s attention to every detail is superb. The courses in Melbourne and Tasmania were awesome to the say the least. I will go on another trip with UK Golf Guy and Outpost Overseas

I can honestly say this trip was perfect! David thought of everything down to the very last detail. He set us up at the best courses in Australia, every hotel was top notch, the included meals were terrific and the chartered flights to Tasmania were amazing! David ran an amazing trip. A few highlights on organisation I'd call out: - you had everything organised and it ran like clockwork - I really liked how you mixed us up so we played with different people throughout the trip - you gave us just the right amount of information at the right time leading up to and during the trip - a nice balance of meals together and evenings free to do our own thing. - good choice of accommodation throughout the trip I had a wonderful time, and really enjoyed the overall experience.
