ARGENTINA 2025

I’m delighted to offer this trip to Argentina in February 2025.

One of the things I love about golf is the places it has taken me to around the world, places I might never have thought of visiting without the lure of a golf course. Argentina will be one of those places.

There will be two centres for this trip – the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires, and the beautiful countryside of Patagonia. And we will play the best golf courses in the country, from Alister MacKenzie’s Jockey Club to the rising star, Desafio, in Patagonia.

But as well as enjoying some great golf, we will also experience the legendary food, drink and dance that make this country so enjoyable.

February is the perfect month to visit Argentina, especially for those of us in the northern hemisphere who want a winter escape to the sun!

My trips are aimed at people who love the game of golf, and have just a little sense of adventure too. Come along as an individual and you’ll meet other people who have a passion for good golf and good company. If you have a few friends and want to come together, then you are more than welcome too. It’s all about enjoying new experiences with like-minded people!

I hope you can make it along, and look forward to seeing you in South America in February 2025!

MONDAY 3RD FEBRUARY

On arrival at Buenos Aires international airport we will be transported to the 4-star Loi Recoleta hotel where we will be based for the next four nights.

In the heart of the swanky Recoleta neighbourhood of the city, surrounded by art galleries, magnificent mansions and restaurants, the hotel is in a near-perfect location in the cultural heart of the city. We’re just a block away from Junín street, known for buzzy outside bars and restaurants. It's six blocks to the nearest subway.

In the afternoon we will take a private city tour to discover the city and then enjoy a meal together nearby.

TUESDAY 4TH FEBRUARY

After breakfast we will transfer to Olivos Golf Course for our first round.

There are 27 holes at Olivos Golf Course and we will play the championship combination of the Red and White nines. The course is considered one of the best in South America and is renowned for its beauty, tight fairways and fast greens.

We will return to Buenos Aires after the round. There is no formal activity planned this evening, but we will organise an outing to a local bar and restaurant for some evening entertainment for those who wish to join.

WEDNESDAY 5TH FEBRUARY

It's a 36-hole day today as we play the historic San Andres course this morning followed by the more modern Buenos Aires Golf Club this afternoon.

San Andres (named after St Andrews) is the oldest golf club in Argentina, built in 1907. It was designed by the Scottish pro Mungo Park. It’s a fun, quirky course with lots of interesting architectural features.

Buenos Aires is a modern complex with 27 holes. We will play the Championship 18. All 27 holes were designed by Robert von Hagge, with his characteristic use of water features and requirement of faultless execution to score well.

The course has been consistently rated as one of the best in Argentina and has hosted the World Cup of Golf and the Eisenhower Trophy.

In the evening, we will eat together as a group in one of the many restaurants near our hotel in Recoleta.

THURSDAY 6TH FEBRUARY

We will play our final round in Buenos Aires - at the top rated course in South America today, The Jockey Club.

The Jockey Club was founded in 1882 and golf has been played on this Alister MacKenzie course since 1930.

In his book, The Spirit of St. Andrews, MacKenzie said, ‘The course has a greater resemblance not only in appearance but in the character of its golf to the Old Course at St Andrews than any inland course I know.’ The course has hosted many prestigious tournaments, including the World Cup of Golf.

After our round, we will return to Buenos Aires where we will enjoy a dinner and tango show in the heart of the city.

From its origins at the beginning of the twentieth century, Tango has come a long way and now is danced in the finest dance halls in Buenos Aires and the world. A dance that began in the local underworld is, today, a symbol of the city and country.

FRIDAY 7TH FEBRUARY

We will check out of our Buenos Aires hotel today and take a scheduled domestic flight to San Martin de los Andes in the North Patagonia region.

San Martin is located on the shores of Lake Lácar, in a natural basin protecting it from the wind. Its position in a sumptuous amphitheater in the mountains preserves the beauty and fertility of its lake and forest environment.

We will be staying at the 4-star Loi Suites Chapelco resort, with its outstanding views across the fairways of Chapelco golf course, just a 10 minute drive to the north of St Martin de los Andes. It has been built to the highest standards and has an outstanding spa, swimming pool and jacuzzi.

This evening we will have the opportunity to explore a local village and have a meal together in one of the excellent local restaurants.

SATURDAY 8TH FEBRUARY

We will play 27 holes today. First up will be the course outside our front door - Chapelco. Chapelco is in an idyllic setting, routed through forest, grass and lakes. This Jack Nicklaus-designed course is considered one of his very best and plays regular host to a PGA Latin America tour event.

Then after lunch we will head to Desafio for a round on the nine hole course. The nine holes at Desafio are winning plaudits all over the world. It's a thrilling course that winds through deep canyons and pine forests,

Tom Doak has said that, when the full eighteen holes are finished, he expects it to become the number one course in Argentina.

SUNDAY 9TH FEBRUARY

Our adventure will culminate today when we play our second round at Chapelco.

There will also be the opportunity to enjoy the resort facilities during the day and we'll round off the trip in the evening with a celebratory dinner.

MONDAY 10TH FEBRUARY

We will fly back to the domestic airport at Buenos Aries on a lunchtime flight.

We will then transfer to the international airport for evening flights home.

If you need to stay on an extra night to connect to flights the next morning, we can organise a last night’s accommodation in Buenos Aires.
